The latest crisis that hit the world has really caused a lot of financial and economic meltdown for each country and individuals at large. Before the pandemic, industries like retails etc. use to have a lot of foot traffic in the stores but since covid-19 the number drop down drastically because of its impart on individuals financially. This project looks at the impart of the pandemic in relations to unemployment that lead to drop in foot traffic.

With Covid-19 pandemic Retail and in person businesses have been hardest hit since government mandated closures to control the spread of the virus. This project visualizes the effect of Covid-19 on foot traffic and the impact of storefront business foot traffic since COVID and its related pattern to unemployment.

Executive Summary

Covid-19 pandemic is a health crisis that has the leaders around the world struggling with challenges of well-being and livelihoods of their countries. the economic challenges brought by the pandemic continue to increase and with them comes much uncertainty about the future. Social distancing and self-quarantine measures have impacted foot traffic at movie theaters, airports, restaurants, bars, grocery stores, warehouse stores and just about everywhere else during the coronavirus outbreak.
This project showcase the effect of Covid-19 on foot traffic and its relationship to unemployment. With social distancing enacted in all states in the US, some industries are/were really affected with count or number of feet to their bricks and mortar stores. We looked at the stores (industries) that are highly impacted by this pandemic and those that are not (essential Vs non-essential). We also compared the impression on each industry to specify the most affected.
