COVID-19 Vaccination In The US

Completion Date:

Project Overview

Since the US started vaccinating its population for Covid-19 in February 2020, we have had over 200 million people fully vaccinated, which is getting us close to the 70% vaccination target. But with the coronavirus mutating from time to time, and with the efficacy of our vaccines waning, it has become necessary to give an additional dose to people six months after they got their second shot. This phase started with the immunocompromised in August 2020 and the booster shot was made available for all Americans.

The purpose of this project is to give us an idea of how many people got at least one dose; how many got fully vaccinated; and how many got the booster shots. We will be able to see the vaccination trend in charts and see the month-over-month rates nationwide and individual states as KPIs. In addition, we will be able to compare each state\'s performance in terms of vaccinating the public. We will also be able to assess the contribution of each vaccine maker in the fight against Covid-19.

Problem Statement

The fact that the COVID 19 Vaccination effort has saved so many lives is an undeniable truth. However, it has had its challenges – starting from the mutation of the virus - to people’s hesitancy to take the vaccine - to the fading efficacy of the vaccine over time. Even though we are getting so close to achieving the 70% vaccination rate goal, states like Alabama, Mississippi, Wyoming and Idaho are behind, all at around 50% as of today, 02/03/2022, and need to double their efforts to catch up.
