Dimensional data mart using star schema for Los Angeles Police Fatal Shooting from 2010 to 2020.
The source of data was a JSON file from County of Los Angeles open data from 2010 to 2020. Each row of source data was a shooting incident where a suspect was involved and was hit or not hit, include the date and time of incident.
The information stored in this data mart was eventually used to run reports according to required KPIs.

Problem Statement
Do police officers really have to kill people when they shoot them? Couldn’t they be more humane and just aim for arms or legs??
Every year, police in America shoot and kill more than 1,000 people. Since 2000,only in L.A County, 885 people died at the hands of police, with nearly 80 percent of them being Black or Latino. From 2013 through 2020, a total of 335 people were killed in hit shooting incidents by local law enforcement agencies in Los Angeles .Gun violence is a uniquely American epidemic, as is gun violence by police. In addition to the loss of life and the family members and survivors’ pain, police shootings have a uniquely corrosive impact on the nation: patterns of police violence dramatically reduce public confidence in police and lead some community members to see them as part of the problem.
